1. What PicknLink Is
PicknLink is a technology platform that connects customers with independent home service professionals ("Pros") in Barbados and the Caribbean. We are a marketplace, not a home services company. Pros are independent contractors, not employees of PicknLink.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old
- You must provide a valid phone number
- One account per person
- You must not be prohibited from using the service under applicable law
3. Customer Responsibilities
- Provide accurate information about the job (location, scope, access)
- Be present or make arrangements for the pro to access the property
- Pay for services as agreed at the time of booking
- Treat professionals with respect
- Not attempt to hire professionals outside of PicknLink to avoid platform fees
4. Professional (Pro) Responsibilities
- Maintain valid licenses and insurance as required by Barbados law
- Arrive at the agreed time or communicate delays promptly
- Complete jobs to a professional standard
- Not solicit customers to pay outside of PicknLink
- Maintain their PicknLink profile with accurate information
5. Bookings and Payments
Booking confirmation
A booking is confirmed when a Pro accepts your request. Until then, it is pending.
Payment hold
Your payment is held securely by Stripe when you book. It is only released to the Pro when the job is marked complete. You are not charged until a Pro accepts your job.
Platform fee
PicknLink charges a platform fee of 12% on each transaction, deducted from the Pro's payment. Customers pay the listed price only.
Cancellation
- Before pro accepts: Full refund, no charge
- After acceptance, 1+ hour before job: Full refund
- Within 1 hour of job start: 25% cancellation fee
- After pro arrives: 50% fee applies
- Pro no-show: Full refund + BBD $20 credit
Disputes
If you are unhappy with a job, raise a dispute within 48 hours of job completion via the app or email support@picknlink.com. We will mediate and may issue a partial or full refund at our discretion.
6. PicknLink Protect
All bookings are covered by the PicknLink Protect guarantee:
- Property damage: Up to BBD $5,000 coverage for damage caused by a Pro during a job
- Money-back guarantee: If a Pro fails to complete the job, you receive a full refund
- Secure payment hold: Your payment is never released until you confirm the job is done
7. Reviews and Ratings
- Reviews must be honest and based on your actual experience
- We prohibit fake, incentivised, or malicious reviews
- Pros and customers may respond to reviews
- We reserve the right to remove reviews that violate our guidelines
8. Prohibited Conduct
You may not:
- Use the platform for illegal services
- Harass, threaten, or discriminate against other users
- Post false or misleading information
- Attempt to circumvent the platform fee by arranging off-platform payments
- Create fake accounts or reviews
- Scrape or copy platform data
- Interfere with the platform's technical infrastructure
9. Intellectual Property
All PicknLink branding, design, and code is owned by PicknLink Ltd. You may not reproduce or use it without written permission.
Content you post (reviews, photos) remains yours. You grant us a licence to display it on the platform.
10. Limitation of Liability
PicknLink is a marketplace platform. We are not responsible for:
- The quality of work performed by independent Pros
- Injuries or accidents occurring during a job (Pros must maintain their own insurance)
- Loss of data or indirect losses
- Delays caused by factors outside our control (weather, strikes, Hurricane Season)
Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the relevant booking.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms without notice. You may close your account at any time via Settings → Account Security → Delete Account.
12. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Barbados. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Barbados.
